First Day of Orientation!

Finally....after 7 years of college, I begin the most difficult part of my education. Today was the first day of orientation, and it was exhausting. The day started with breakfast in our dining hall, which is pretty awesome. The dining hall not only has pool tables, but also has a little sitting area with a big screen TV to entertain the masses during lunch and breaks. After breakfast we migrated to an auditorium in the main building where we were addressed by the dean of the entire college (both campuses). She was very inspiring and gave a great message to the young members of the healthcare field. After that we were introduced to the deans of all the colleges...of course Dr. Simonsen got the most applause : ) After that we were informed about all the codes of conduct and procedures for the school. It was very boring. We did learn some pretty cool stuff available to us at Midwestern. We have spinning classes on campus, as well as many opportunities to play sports to get out our frustrations. There are many places on campus to study, and our ID badges will get us into study areas after hours. There is even a place that is open 24/365 for studying. For lunch we were served tiny portions of mexican food...so by 3 everyone (of course I mean Jordan, Anthony and myself) was pretty hungry. We were let out at around 3:30 after a great lecture on study habits. We then went and got our pictures taken for our ID cards and received our locker numbers and mailbox keys. I did get a pretty cool free shirt that represents Midwestern....wooohoooo! After that we got our scrubs, as you can see. Tomorrow I will learn a lot about ethics from some world renowned leaders in Dentistry and ethics. One speaker, Dr. Arthur Dugoni, is like a rockstar of the dental world. In fact, he has a program named after him (Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry)!
