Birthdays and get togethers.....

Since my last post we have become fast friends with a few couples that we met at the first dental mixer. There were only about 8-10 students, some married, some single. We met two really nice couples and have become fast friends with them. Its funny how alike we all are, even though we are from different parts of the country. We all agreed that we were soooo bored of hanging out in our apartments all day, so we just had to get together as often as possible. Being that AZ is so hot, we felt it was necessary to visit Lake Pleasant. The day we chose to go just happened to be my birthday. It was a great day, we just laid out in the sun on our floaty-rafts. We did get to see some odd people there. When we arrived there was a lady there by herself. At first we thought she had a baby because she had a carriage next to her, but we found out she had her dog, which we are convinced she brought to the lake to drown. Next we asked a guy if he would take a picture of us....he misunderstood and thought we wanted a picture of him, to which he was like "thats so weird." Obviously my explanation of it is not nearly as funny as the look on his face.

Lauren and I went out for our birthdays to a cool piano-bar-restaurant called Skye. The steaks were pretty awesome and the entertainment wasn't bad either. Lauren and I had martinis, as you can see, the bartender put a small piece of dry ice in, making the drink bubble and smoke. It was pretty cool.

Lauren also found a job! She will be working for the government doing something with military benefits. She starts on Monday! Next week is going to be a sad week for us, as we have been spending so much time together the last month and a half and it is about to come to an end. Our orientation is next week as well...and I can't wait!
