The Big Move

It has been over a month since my last post and much has changed.  We packed our house and moved on July 24th, and are now enjoying the blistering heat of Arizona.  The drive down was rather eventful.  We darn near ran over a car getting out of the parking lot at a gas station, won some money in Ely Nevada, then got detoured around the Hoover Dam because our truck was "unsearchable."  They must have thought we were going to blow a big "dam" hole : )  When we arrived in Glendale, we were treated to one of the most awesome thunderstorms I have ever seen!  It was an awesome sight, but it made the area super muggy for the next few days, which made unloading the truck a blast.  Fortunately, the truck unloaded much faster than we expected, so we were able to do it quickly.  My parents stayed and helped us unpack for a few days (although they did get their "mall" time) and left on Wednesday after we arrived.  It was sad to see them go, but Lauren and I look at our situation as an opportunity to strengthen our relationship to a new level.  Lauren has been going balls-to-the-wall to get us unpacked and set up.  She has stayed up past 4am twice unpacking boxes.  I will attempt to load a video that shows our apartment complex as well as our apartment.  Right now we are playing the waiting game for school to start, and we are trying to figure out where everything is around us.  Unlike Idaho where the mountains are easily seen and create an easy way to know N,S,E and W...Arizona is much more difficult because there is no mountain range to get a reference point.  In the next few weeks I'll try to keep everyone updated on our day-to-day activities.
